Banana Spice Bars
  • 1/4 c. tub margarine with no trans fat & low in saturated fat or butter

  • 1 mashed ripe banana

  • 1/4 c. skim milk

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 c. whole wheat flour

  • 1/2 c. white flour

  • 3/4 c. sugar

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 2 T. tub margarine with no trans fat & low in saturated fat or butter
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp water
Directions: 
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray cooking spray into 13 x 9 inch pan.   
In a small bowl combine margarine and banana until blended.  Add milk and egg, beat well.  
Stir in flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and allspice and mix well.  Spread into 13 x 9 inch pan.  
Cook for 20-25 minutes or until light golden brown.
Frosting: Meanwhile melt margarine in a small saucepan.  Stir in powdered sugar, lemon juice, and water.  
Spread frosting over slightly cooled, but still warm bars.  Cut when completely cooled.
